Smile Art Dental Studio is proud to share that our founder, Dr. Marilyn Rivero, DMD, has been featured in Boston Magazine’s Women of Distinction for 2026, a series spotlighting accomplished women making meaningful contributions across their professions and communities throughout Greater Boston.
For Dr. Rivero, the feature reflects more than 25 years of work built on a simple idea: that exceptional dentistry and genuinely personal care belong together. From the moment a patient walks through the door, the goal at Smile Art Dental Studio is the same — thoughtful, individualized treatment in a warm, welcoming, and inclusive environment.
“An artist at heart, Dr. Rivero channels her creativity into designing beautiful smiles.”
A Career Built on Craft and Care
Dr. Rivero earned her Doctor of Dental Medicine from Tufts University School of Dental Medicine, where she was a two-time recipient of the Tufts Grant, awarded to the school’s highest-achieving students. She went on to complete postgraduate training at the prestigious Pankey Institute for Advanced Dental Studies, with coursework in occlusion and cosmetic dentistry and a mini-residency in prosthetic dentistry focused on smile design.
An artist at heart, Dr. Rivero channels that creativity into one of the things she is best known for: designing beautiful, natural-looking smiles tailored to each patient.
Recognized Across the Region
The Women of Distinction feature joins a record of recognition Dr. Rivero has earned throughout her career. She was named to Boston Magazine’s Top Dentists list for 2025, a peer-reviewed selection of dental professionals across the greater Boston area. She is also a Fellow of the International College of Dentists — the world’s oldest and largest honor society for dentists — and has served as a clinical instructor at Tufts University School of Dental Medicine in the Operative Department, helping shape the next generation of clinicians.
Giving Back Beyond the Office
Dr. Rivero’s commitment to her community extends well beyond her practice. She volunteers with the Child Identification Program (CHIPS), creating dental imprints that help locate missing children, and has served with the Massachusetts Dental Society’s Mobile Access to Care (MAC) van, which brings dental care to underserved children across the Commonwealth.
